Andrew Hayden-Smith is a British actor, television presenter, and voiceover artist from the North-east of England. He first appeared on screen at the age of 12 and has since become a familiar face on British television.
Born in Gateshead, Andrew began his acting career playing Ben Carter in the iconic teen drama Byker Grove. He later went on to join the BBC’s Doctor Who as freedom fighter Jake Simmonds, appearing in the revived series as well as related specials and audio dramas.
Alongside his acting work, Andrew became a popular presenter for the BBC’s CBBC channel, where he fronted a range of programmes before leaving in 2006 to focus on new projects.
His television credits also include roles in Cucumber, Banana, and Hollyoaks, where he appeared as DS Gavin Armstrong. In addition to his on-screen work, Andrew is an accomplished voiceover artist, lending his voice to numerous productions across television, radio, and digital media.
Andrew has joined the cast of Coronation Street in a guest role as Pete Lang, his first episode airs tonight on ITV.
